View Full Version : Request from any Floridians in the house...
What is the protective status of cornsnakes in FL? A women at my job who is working on a project came upon a letter stateing that cornsnakes are protected in FL and I do not belive that to be the case.
Just checking to see if I can get her factual info as oppoesed to my gut feeling and perhaps a website stateing such.
All of the best,

Corns ARE NOT protected in florida. But Indigos are. As long as you dont use them for cemmericiall use you dont need a lisence to collect them.

Do not collect corn snakes from the keys however. There is review I believe at this time concerning their status. The upper keys or rosy corn may be a species of concern. Otherwise, I think there are no other restrictions on collecting except all animals are protected in State Parks etc. Check each you may enter first. You can collect from roads at night with a light as long as you are not in possession of a firearm. They are protected somewhat in Georgia however.
