Hey there's a couple things I have been wondering about but always forget to ask and I hope someone here will help me out. How can you tell a het BP from a normal (is it possible by looking at it)? Also can someone explain what it means when people put numbers next to their snakes? eg) 2.1 Corn snake or 1.0 Ball python. These are just a couple things I think I have the general idea of but i'm not totally sure.

It is not possible to tell a het from a normal physically. It depends on the parents.
If one of the parents is homozygous (shows the morph physically) then all of the babies will be 100% het. If the parents are both 100% het then it's really a matter of odds, hopefully at least one will be homozygous but it doesn't have to happen, then the majority of the rest will be 100% het but since you can't tell which are 100% het and which are normal they are called 66% possible hets.
The numbers next to the kind of snake tell whether they are male or female. 1.0 means 1 male and 0 females. 0.1 means 0 males and 1 female, or 1.2 means 1 male and 2 female, etc, etc. Or if you don't know the gender then you would put 0.0.1 meaning 1 unknown gender.

I think that is right anyway, as far as the hets go. I am still learning :p

By the way there are other kinds of traits where the above information can be different, this is just simple recessive traits.
