Looking for any good reads on what is recommended for heating Vision cages. I've always prefered under tank heaters on my glass enclosures, but I like the vision cages and I recently bought one. I have model #322 on this page
http://www.rlreptiles.com/RL_CagesAndTubs.cfm

It does have a cut out near the back of the enclosure for a lamp etc. I currently have a lamp there for lighting and I'm considering adding some type of heat lamp to heat from above as well instead of having to somehow lift the cage off the floor with supports for ventalation for an under tank heater.

Any suggestions/comments appreciated. Would like links to products suggested if possible. Thanks!

I'm certain you can heat them with heat tape as well.

i just switched to visions and am using heat panels on my #322
and it works awesome!

i've used heat tape before, but after using the heat panels, i couldn't go back...:)

i use them in both arboreal and terrestrial cages.
there cheap for a heating element that has a 10 year warranty, water proof, as well as fire resistent.

I use heat tape on my bottom tank then in the middle tank I have a ceramic heater with a hood in the recessed area, it also heats the floor of top tank.

Heat take being an under tank heater was something I wanted to avoid myself. The heat panel looks ok as long as the animal can't burn itself? What are the thoughts on a 60 watt ceramic heat bulb to put in the recess?

Thanks again

Snakes cannot burn themselves on radiant heat panels. They can, however, burn themselves on ceramic heat emitters that are not properly caged.

What will you be housing? If you are housing an arboreal snake, and undertank heater is about as useless as an elevator in an outhouse.

Grant - Where did you get your RHPs from? How much did they cost after shipping?
