View Full Version : ribbermaid sizes
Hello,
What's the biggest clear rubbermaid or sterilite bin you can get? The biggest ones I've seen are around 20 gallons, and cant have any more than about 3 square feet of floor space. Using the 1square foot/foot of snake guideline, this isn't really big enough for a nadult BP or bullsnake.
Do you guys know of larger clear bins? Use opaque bins instead? Use bins for juvies only? Skimp onb the space?

Ball Pythons are generally the exception to the one foot of floor space per foot of snake rule. Most adults can be housed in as small as the 11 gallon rubbermaids.
Gracious Living makes 3x2x6" rubbermaids suitable for larger snakes. I thought when I measured last they were 40" but I remembered wrong. They can come opaque or clear. There is another supplier, cannot think of the name right now though, that makes 4' rubbermaids.
Now that you mention it, I remember seeing "under bed" units that had quite a bit of floor space. I wrote them off as being too low. Is 6" really high enough for a lot of species?

sterilite has those that you can put the optional wheels under to slide it under your bed. Huge ones, must be about 4 feet long bu 2 and a half feet wide.
I got one at home.
clear plastic with the lid taht can lift in 2 parts.
I find those wheel wells really inconvient myself. My snakes crap right around that area and its just annoying cleaning around the well. LOL.
I get these awesome 36 inch long ones for the corns. they are about 6-7 inches high, 15-20 inches wide. they are great.
