Ever since i got my male red albino corn snake he has been non stop eating every week or more...
i've been feeding him rat pups weekly recently, 2 weeks ago i put him in his usual feeding bow with a small rat(always live prey), he didnt go after eat(first time ever), so i waited another week and offered him his usaul rat pup and he refused again..
im not sure if hes stopping his feeding for his cooling down...
any ideas ??

Come on! it's COMMON SENSE. Don't feed live! It can kill your snake.

i think his snake is super and can eat live rats... unlike someone i know.... YOU!!!!!
Just cause his snake gets the job done and your cant dont take it out on him....

While I agree live is a bad idea, I don't think chris was ever told otherwise (until i did). If you're told live is okay from the start and your snake never gets bitten, you really don't think twice.
Plus, from now on, he's probably going to get some of rats from me, and I'll make sure they are nice and frozen before he gets them :)

I'm not saying my snake can't eat live. But I'm not going to try because I don't want to kill my snake because I don't have enough time in the milisecond it takes for the rat to rip an eye out. I did NOT mean to sound mean! Snakes in captivity are not meant to eat live. They can't get away from a rat (which is way bolder and meaner than a mouse) that is scared and mad! And IMO no good breeder would want you to feed live either.
I'm just thinking of the SAFTEY and WELL BEING of the snake.
