I don't get it. It has cleaner brighter yellow. When I think pastel colours I think easter eggs. Why are some animals called pastel? The colour difference is very obviouse but what makes an animal pastel? I'm not just talking balls either boas too? How is it different from Hypo?

Trevor

Pastel colors are yellow, baby blue, some oranges, pinks, purples etc etc. Pastel Balls are sooo yellow its not even funny. And their heads are purple. Its not just cleaner or brighter yellow. Normals aren't yellow AT ALL. They may be gold-ish looking. But gold is NOT yellow. Trust me.

Hence the name "Pastel"

And hypos are just reduced black. I've never seen a yellow hypo. Not Pastel-yellow anyways.

With the BPs at least, they are not hypomelanistic - they are lacking nothing for black pigment. They are more or less hyperxanthic - extremely exaggerated yellow pigment.
