According to the 2003 Reptiles Annual Magazine, they mix 100 grams of water with 200 grams of dry perlite. However there is much more to this, try to grap a copy of this magazine.
Good Luck!!!

Vermiculite! You can't see mold on perlite until its too late!

I use 2:1 vermiculite to perlite. I hate perlite, it gives me a rash so I guess I only keep it around because i'm kind of superstitious... why mess with a winning streak?:p Just mix and rinse, then throw the eggs in. A good guide to follow for water content is it should be damp, but you shouldn't be able to sqeeeze out any excess water. Good luck:)
