Help me make a list of snakes!

Sorry if this thread doesnt belong here but since its not a certain type of snake im talking about i figured it would go here.

I can have 6 snakes and the onlything i request is they stay under 6'

My current list consist of:

1 - brazilian rainbow boa
1 - ball python
1 - jungle carpet python
1 - tangerine honduran milk
1 - california king

That leaves me with the choice of one more snake and im looking for suggestions. If you choose a snake i should get then please explain why i would want it so i can understand why its a nice snake to add to my collection.

That's like asking us what you feel like for dinner, or what your favourite colour is. We can only give what our favourite snakes are, and everyone taste is different.


Firstly, we need a bit more info before we can suggest snakes for you to check out and see if YOU like them, such as what kind of experience you have with snakes, and what kind of snake you would like (ie- do you want to handle your snake or just look at it?). If you give us a little more input we can help you more ;)

Ok sorry.

I worked at my lps for 1 year and learned alot and in my free time im always reading about snakes and care is always my #1 priority so reading caresheets and reseaching is the first thing i do before i buy.

Im looking for something i can hold but doesnt have to be everyday or for long periods of time. Thats about all i know because iv looked up snakes and read about them but i just wanna know what youall like and why so i can base my thought on that.

Even with reading all i can on snakes i still dont know what they are like untill i get it home but with your help and experience it will make my decision alot more easy :)

short-tailed python sounds like a nice snake to fill my 6'th spot :)
keep the suggestions comming tho because i might put back the cali king for something eles :)

I wouldn't recommend a short-tailed python until you have more experience, as they are more of a challenging snake to keep and handle, and should be left to intermediate keepers.

Have you considered a rosy boa or sandboa? Both are cool snake... I am partial to rosies, they are definitely one of my favourites and very underrated.
Some BCI such as Crawl Cays stay under 6' as adults as well.
You could always go with a cornsnake too, I personally am not a big fan of them, but many people do like them.
There are also Spotted and Children's Pythons, Garter and Ribbon snakes, and many different subspecies of ratsnake to choose from as well :)

All i remeber is it looked like it was on fire as in the pattern of the snake. Very cool looking snake if anyone can hint me the name and some info that would be great!

by on fire i mean it kinda looked like flames!
