rough scales

My girl has what I can only describe as rough scales on her belly. Inoticed it when I was handling her and she was moving across my hand. I think she is going to shed, but any input would also be appreciated.

PS She has gotten into the habit of using her water dish as an outhouse, slightly disgusting, but it makes cleaning a snap.

When snakes are going in to a shed, often their scales will appear to be "ruffled". I wouldn't be concerned, unless your snake sheds and still appears this way.
