Ok I'm going to tell you a true story.

I was at the pet shop a couple of weeks ago (didn't think about it till now)
and they have 2 of the cutest little leopard tortoise babies out sitting on the floor in a little tub with a little water in there for a soak.......now whats dumb about this?

NO ONE WAS AROUND, there are no camares, no one was at the desk right across from it to see...NOTHING. I could have walked out with 2 baby tortoises! They had them priced at about 150$-200$........

I am totally amazed that no one stole them! Believe me.....it ran through my mind more than once (more like the entire time they were out!)..........

Would anyone have walked away with one maybe 2?
I have to be honest. I have the money for it. But I would have probably done it if my conscience hadn't been acting up that day! lol......maybe next time they won't be so lucky.

Anyone ever encounted a really DUMB pet store like this?

How about dumb people who leave their keys in the car? Just steal it, man. Teach them good! Free car for you too!

Or those losers who leave their TV's in their house when they go on vacation.....

Glad to hear you didn't steal from them... Smarten up.

Maybe..........But thats not breaking and entering either. Maybe they need to smarten up......
I'm not saying it's right. But the store needs to be more carefull.

Regardless if anyone was watching them stealing is stealing!

Oh yes I agree, stealing is stealing.........

One of them had a piece around the edge of his (or her) shell missing, like it had been dropped......:(
it's usually a good pet store........
But the person that usually takes care of the herps was at an expo somewhere........

Just because you don't see a camera, doesn't mean there isn't one there.

Of course....of course.....There are just so many people out there that doesn't understand that ( the majority is probably here in KS.) These people have the neodesha (I think, but not sure) cages, the kind with the sliding fronts, but they have no locks on them. I'm surprised that no one has decided that it would be easy to slide that over and take a little corn or something. Which usually get stuck in the little lip part anyways......

This place used to be run so much better. I don't know what happened to it. The herp area used to be in full view of all the staff, now it's got all these cages and stuff to where you (the staff) can't see it.

All I was saying is this pet store staff should have been more carefull. There were ALOT of people there that day. That is why I said I was surprised no one stole them.

I think Saphire moon is trying to say that animals should not be left in the open. It's just not good practice. It just gives an opportunity for customers to either harm or take it. You can't expect everyone to look and not touch. Keep it behind a cage or a tank.

I don't think it's about stealing, more about protecting the animals.

Cheers,
JJ;)
