http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/509/950Sony1-med.jpg This guy was sold to me as a creamciscle, a year ago. He was a nice bright orange. Now with every shed he becomes more and more red and is loosing his orange. Any suggestions what he may be or is he actually a creamciscle?
Sorry the picture is not the best quality.
Kevin,
Wow...never even thought that he would look like this in a year. One of his parent was a creamsicle and the mother was a corn. Since this breeding would make the hatchlings 'more to' a corn, I guess this is what happened so that is why it looks more like a amel corn than a creamsicle.
This is a definate creamsicle since one of the parent is a creamsicle (this is so because there are some people out there that doesn't accept hybrids - I am one of them...so got rid of all but one pair of frosted creamsicles...those are truely too amazing to get rid of.)
So that is why I say it's a creamsicle and not a pure corn~

As Simon indicates, the 'creamsicle' designation is specifically related to the fact that these snakes are descended from crosses (intergrades) between cornsnakes and great plains ratsnakes. The objective of those original cross breedings was to increase the yellow/orange and reduce the red but now it is not really a reflection of what their color will turn out to be. If one parent of this snake was a creamsicle, it is correct to refer to it as a creamsicle - but it may actually resemble an albino cornsnake.
I have found it very hard to locate good quality orange or yellow/orange creamsicles as so many have so much cornsnake blood in them. There are also color changes between hatchling and adult that can result in the reddish tones increasing or decreasing with age. The best way to be sure of what your hatchling will turn out to look like as an adult is to look at both parents - and even then it is not certain.
Yours is still a very attractive snake. This is one of our creamsicles - we were lucky to get this guy from Ryan and Sheila (of Scales Zoo) and he has retained his orange tones well at 3 years of age. Definately one of my favorite varieties - even if they are not pure corns.

Yes Simon the kinked tail one. However I can not see or feel the kink anymore. Could she have out grown it?
I will take a few pictures and get them to you soon
Yes she might have out grown it.
I have heard a lot of stories about kinked snakes out growing it.
But wheather it really has out grown it or not is still the question. Also it MIGHT be genetical....so that is why every year I either sell them as unsexed or it's bye bye and milk/king food~
(Of course the ones that eat are sold and ones that doesn't eat are the ones going bye bye~)

Would love to see photos of your creamsicle female - especially if she is of the orange or yellow tones.
