How much to feed adult short-tail

He's born around june 2001 and he's now over 5 ft. I feed him a jumbo rat about every 3 week, sometimes every 4 weeks and he's still growing like mad. I know it's impossible I'm over feeding him but every care sheet said them usually max at 5 ft for males. Don't worry, I'm prepared for a big snake (he already has a 5 x 2 x 1.5 feet enclosure) but I wonder since they have such slow metabolism how much an adult should beed feed. Here's a recent pics of him. I don't want to under feed him either but I weight him often and he's still gaining alot of weight

So I'ld like to heard about your feeding scedule.

My borneo is about 5ft and was born right around the same time as yours. I give him a jumbo rat every 10 days.

hes definately a BIG boy.
your feedings of every 3-4 weeks is perfect if hes still growing and still gaining weight.
i always kept my males on the lighter side as they make better breeders.
Do what you feel is best.
You definately wont be starving him or stuffing him if you keep to your current schedual.
The borneo pictured on pro exotics site, even if female, is waaaay to fat (even for a short-tail)
keep your males on the slim side, and keep your females plump and you will have good success at breeding down the road.

I can't see the pic :confused:, but it sounds like my guy. I feed him every 3 weeks on average and he just grows faster than any snake I've ever seen. I remember as a hatchling for a while they he was nearly doubling in size month to month and only being fed one rat every 2 weeks. It was unreal! He is still growing like mad, not nearly as fast as before but still much faster than any other snake. Its wild. For snakes that have a seemingly slow metabolism, they sure grow like weeds!

Jez, that is probably the most gorgeous borneo I have ever seen. Does it really look that purple IRL or is it just an effect of the camera?

Invictus, thanks for the kind word! What is IRL? It's probably a camera effect cause he don't have any purple color, exept when in shed, he get really purple and brown.

Wow you weren't kidding! He's gotten huge since the last time you posted pics of him! :D I'll have to get some newer pics of my male up soon. He's getting to be a big boy! LOL and damn near nailed me in the leg the other day when I open his cage... flew right out like a rocket :p I think someone needs to rename them 'Flying Pythons' :p
