I caught Jake the Snake blowing bubbles in the water dish the other day! He was cruising his head aound under the water and streams of bubbles where coming out of his nose! My snakes are FREAKS! Honey Bun has been talking up a storm, especially when we went to the local Biology 11 class. Very relaxed at being held, but whistling, hissing and 'rumbling'. The vet thinks that she probably had some kind of infection and has some scaring in her nose that makes her noisy. A friend that has a degree in biology an has worked with snakes for years said that sometimes boas are just noisy.
I think I need to buy a video camera and make my fortune off of America's Funniest Home Videos!LOL!

Well its deffinitely not funny if it is an infection, i would get her checked again by a vet, this is not normal as none of my 4 boas do this.
The only one of mine that hisses is my hog island and that is only when she is p!ssed off at me for bothering her.

Het, my vet feels that she is all right. Her diet is good, mouth looks healthy and no respiration noises. These noises that she makes are random and not consistent with any particular activity ie: noisy breathing when moving. While she was underweight, she is looking really healthy now. If she starts showing any signs other signs of a RI, you can bet I will be taking her to the vet. Thanks for your concern.:)
