Almost half of my collection came from Mark IsBell alone. :D

One came from a local pet store; one a dumpster (err.. that's where we found and rescued her); and the other 4 have been purchased from the same breeder.
Two from a pet store. All the rest from breeders.

Mostly from breeders. But if I see something I want in a pet store I buy it.

One of my snakes were bred by a breeder that owns the pet shop, one from the same shop but not bred by the owner.
Out of my 5 herps, only my king snake is not from a breeder. I'm relatively sure he's captive bred since I can't truly imagine a wild caught being so docile. Interestingly, 75% of my leos came from one breeder, Teresa Wittig, the other coming from our very own Clownfishie.
All from breeders, oh and my own hatchlings. :)
Mostly rescues/adoptions, about 1/4 came from breeders.

I'll only buy from breeders. last year when i got my snow corns they were 70$ from a breeder and 170$ at the LPS. btw thier cost at the time(50$). Plus they have no idea about the animals requirements and often have mites or feeding problems.

Hmmm... most of my animals are captive bred, but many have not come direct from the person that bred them. Most come from private sales.

OUt of all 30 of my snakes there is only a 3 or 4 that I can't be sure of whether or not they are captive bred because I don't know exactly who produced them. They are Ball Pythons and my pair of ATB's that I picked up in private sales.

breeders are cheaper.
10% of my collection is from a pet store, the remainder are from breeders.
most are from breeders
so that I can konw what genes are in the snake (easier for reproduction....much easier than guessing...lol)

All of my animals are rescues. It makes me feel good to know that I helped save an animals life.

Except for "Scarlett".. Our Pueblan Milk, "Rambo"' our 23 year old Cerotophrys, and the Leopard frog, the rest were bought off the internet... breeders and individual sellers. The Doc and Jan

well let me see, 2 are rescues, some from breeders, some from on ssnakes.com, and some from reptile rescue.1 was from a pet store that when i picked it out the girl put it in a plastic bag and tied the top shut, as she said that it would keep the warm air in the bag better, i nearly flipped, went to the dollar store and bought a critter keeper.ahhhh, petstores not sure where they get their employees.
my thoughts

pretty much all from breeders, mainly from the US....
breeders !
when it's otherwise it was because I really didn't find a breeder close enough or that it was a really really great deal..

My redfoots from a friend that bought if from a breeder. All my other animals are rescues from bad homes.
most of the critters I have right now I produced myself. The rest from breeders, and my marbled gecko from a small pet shop.
One of my leos came from a "friend of a friend" and I think it may have been from a pet shop too.
I like to support breeders rather than buy sh*t @ssed reptiles that the majority of pet stores in the maritimes sell. Every now and then you see a few healthy looking animals, but give them a month and they usually end up looking like the rest.
I have to give props to Pets Unlimited in Dartmouth though... a couple of years ago I almost had a coniption fit when I saw a tank with probably 10-15 stick thin and grey leos. Now it seems whoever is in charge of reptiles has a pretty good idea of whats going on with them.
good to see, too bad some other stores haven't followed their lead yet.
