Heres another interesting query? What strange non-herp pets do you have?
I have:
A miniture pot belly pig
A "Lunar" Blue Crayfish
That crayfish is odd in the extreme and the pig is the smartest animal I have ever known.

Other than all the herps we have:
Bandogge and Husky Dogs , cats, Tropical fish, koi-outdoor pond, a 150 gal goldfish tank at my studio, budgies, canary, ducks, rat and a "T"
When the small birds move on (pls) i will get a Sun Conure as i dont have the time for a Green Wing Macaw..
Cheers
Brian
My mom and I used to have skunks. But they are illegal now.

I used to have a ferret and am thinking about getting another one, also I'm currently helping look after some young ducks my grandparents rescued from a coyote at their farm. Besides that I have my Bandogge and Springer Spaniel and the reptiles of course.

Nothing we have is odd being there are so many private collectors keeping them, but I guess the Tiger, bobcats, lynx, wolves - Pure, duck, owl and two hawks would fit into this catagory.. Ive always wanted a warthog.... Xain
I once had a brown squirrel for a while. Great pet, very smart. I had him potty trained and everything in the house. Unfortunately he was a rescue and died about 3 months later.

I have an Egyptian spiny mouse. Truly odd but cool. TB
The weirdest non-herp I have ever had is a Praying Mantis.
Pair of Afr. Pygmy hedgehogs; an albino and a regular.

i used to have a pigeon as a kid, my dad rescue'd it and i kept it as a pet and nursed it back to health. he used to come back every year but now he stopped comming. This was like 5 years ago... im assuming he passed... RIP
i also had a rooster... my parents bought him and i raised him as a pet until cops took him away :( i was only 10 years old. it was a sad day for me.
i also used to keep lots of stuff i found when i was a child. i like everything except bugs with too many legs.

I have a prairie dog, ferrets, sugar gliders (all rescued), and some cockroaches. (and a pair of soon to be giant pied african walking catfish from Katt!!!) I guess that isn't too odd, but I have been fortunate enough to work with many odd and unusual creatures over the years.

Wow alot of great Pets!!! OK how about a step further does anyone have any pics?
My dad had also rescued a baby hawk from a train track (his wing was frozen to it) and nursed it back to health he released it off his balcony when it was well enough to be off again, that bird also kept comming back for many years after what a awsome thing to have happen for us, but then one year just stopped comming as well ::sigh:: We were lucky for the time he/she gave us though :) Sad thing was my dad used to go down to the train tracks to walk all the time and found many more owls, hawks so on and so forth along that railway, I never thought it was such a problem for the birds.
wow... some of you got some crazy sounding animals.... show some pics cuzz I don't even know what half the things you guys are talking about look like.
Seann: hey.... where can I get me one of them useful blue haired animals you speak of???
LOL... J/K I already have a red haired one. :D

this is Bambi my Patagonian cavy, you cant really tell in this pic, but her other hind leg is all shaved from surgery due to a broken leg, with the amount of money it cost i could have bought a whole herd of them, but she loves life and it was worth it
Well dvs you gotto get the ones that will pamer you judging by race and backgroung Personally i like to interview my girls and see if they are worthy of me! DVS if the girl does not wanna do these five things for you shes no good (think of it as a dehydrated snake the woman has to know how to cook give good back rubs, have a job and a car so she can serve you when ever and if you master this your pet lady will be yours for a life time also Get the girl a pager so when ever you need her to serve you all you got to do is buzz her!
My girl is a well trained pet and shes the best!
ohhhh boy..... I think your gonna catch some heat for that one. :hammer:
I have no further comment o>
Ladyhawke: that mountain coatimundi looks kinda interesting.... you got any full body shots of him???? and you say he's a sweatie? was he always like that?

seann, we all know taht you are prob the one who cooks for her in the end and give her some back rubbings and massages...
:-p
Women are the pretties creatures and I doubt they would be trained.... we men have spent hundreds of years trying to understand them and we only figured out they are suckers for chocolate.
:-p
