I have finished my 1980 Trans Am drag car and needed a new project. So i got a 1983 Z28 to build up. It is a t-top with a rebuilt 350 4 bolt main with shift kit. It is getting painted this week end the colour is going to be Mazda Blue with the silver ground effects
then will go to the engine this spring and build it up.

You painting it yourself?

Well my dad was going to paint it. He has been painting car's for over 30 years now. But it has got to be to cold to paint with out a paint bay were it would stay warm enough to dry and not go dall.
So it is going to get painted at a body shop.

Very good work! If I had the time and resources to take up a hobby like that, I would. I'd love to build myself a 1968 Shelby Mustang GT 500 or a 1968 Barracuda. *sigh* I can only dream. *L* :D

Looks good my friend Sprayed his truck its good enough that the average person thinks its a Pro paint job But a Car person can pick up all the #$%# up's in about 2 seconds

RedDragon, I am dreaming too... :( Couldn't afford the Shelby, but I did get a '68 fastback, which is still quite good fun! I look funny driving it because I'm so little - I can hardly see over the enormous steering wheel!

Anyway, keep dreaming... one day... who knows?!;)

Wow that car looks smooth if the paint is good it must have cost a fortune to paint it black I see sooo many ripply black cars out there I shake my head And wonder why they just didnt paint it white, red, yellow. It seems like you Islanders Are more into completely restoring the cars to Og condition while most people out here Hot rod em all.

I really, really love your t/a!! The '78 front end was definately a nice pick. It's definately my favourite style of front ends for the t/a's. I don't like the two seperated lights on both sides.

Sweet job! :D

Thanks icex19 i thought that front end would look better as well.
I also do not like the 2 seperate head lights

Bryce...I hear you there for sure black can be a ***** to paint if the body was not done right. To paint the T/A it cost me almost a 1,300 for the body and paint but to see it all waxed up it was worht every penny. That car is my BABY...LOL

dvs...The last time it was at the track it pulled 10. flat but my best time was 9.6

thanks for all the nice replys
