Hi, I house a male red albino with a normal female corn snake, noth are approx 2 years old and i keep them in a 4',1',18"tank.
I am told it's not the best idea to house them together..
I want to breed them this spring..
Are they 2 young?
And should I really house them seperately?
Will they still breed at this age without cooling them?
Thanks

you should definitely house them seperately, there is a thread somewhere about one corn eating the other, also if one gets sick the other will get sick too. About the breeding, I have no idea, I hope someone else can help you there.

and I swear I put a link to that thread to.....go find it. It is an all around bad idea to house two snakes together (unless breeding) and letting them "be together" to young can cause your female to get the eggs stuck inside of her.

hahah well housing two snakes together is overall speaking a very bad idea...and if I didn't have to do it I wouldn't do it myself. I need to get a house...sigh...maybe a house just for the amount of snakes that I have or something..geeze..

anyway age doesn't really matter in breeding for corns. It is actually the size that matters more for corns. If the female is at least 36-40 inches long and looking FAT!!! then yes you can try breeding them together.

Breeding at too small of a size could easily cause egg binding and this could definately lead to death.....so just think before breeding~

oh yeah
and refer to this link:

as I lost one of my hatchlings with the other one swallowing it......so don't do it!!!

Yes egg binding, that is what I was trying to think of!
