Well I don't think my new leo was handled much by her breeder since she tried to bite me today and completely freaked out. :( Also she hissed at me when i misted her today. So since this is new to me (my other 2 were never like this) do you have any hints about getting her use to misting and me? I know it will be slow, but possible. I guess my first step would be to get her use to my hand in the cage before i try to handle her at all again...

Also she doesn't seem to be eatting her calcium, but she has very mild shakes. Is there anything else that might be causing her to shake?

how old is your gecko? my leos will hiss at me if i mist them so i avoid it. instead u can give them baths.

Leos don't need to be misted or have baths. All they need is a humid hide. Lightly mist the humid hide daily, and that should be all that is necessary. Also, if your leo is a young baby, hissing etc. is common behavior. They calm as they get older. And yes, start by getting her used to having your hand in the cage without touching her. And when u do handle her, don't chase her around the cage. Just gently but confidently pick her up.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't your new leo a blizzard? Blizzard leos are, more often than not, quite mean. Many never tame down that much at all.

Yes she is a blizzard and i was told she is about a year old already. I only mist when i feel they really need it and don't seem to use the humid hide. I use paper towels for substrate so its gets kind of weird if you mist so I also try to avoid it.
are blizzards high strung leos?

They are very high strung. I had a male I tamed down as best I could, and he would still on occasion nip me, squeal at me, and take off like a bolt of lightning.
Eventually he mostly stopped biting, but would press his snout as hard as he could into my hand. It was weird.

I sold him. And wow...do I ever miss the hyperactive little critter.

Oh, and I had to handle him daily since he was only a couple days old to get that far.
And...that's the norm for blizzards for the most part. :/
