I got this little guy in rescue today. I have not seen an Eastern Hognose with a these colors (or lack there of). Any ideas?

WC north FL I believe. They wanted to keep it but realized that it was illegal in GA. Since I have my permits, it came to me. it is about 12".
Those colors fit into their description. Damn nice Hog. Keeping him, release, or other?

I will be keeping him and integrating him into the educational programs on GA snakes. He hoods everytime I go into the room.
It is not the colors that threw me, it is the lack of colors. Melanistic are fairly common, but I have never seen one with no colors other than greyscale. Usually from the area he comes from, there is at least a touch of orange.
I need toads. :D
that is a great looking hog...
pretty too....man those rescues are nice~
Great find Brian! Sometimes the younger ones lack the reds but soon grow into them. But that one looks quite a bit older. Seems to me you've got one heck of an educational animal man!
