A bit too overcast for a good pic, but I think you can see the differences already. The everglades rat is about a month old and starting to get a bit of color. The yellow rat is just a week or so old. I've had some questions and interest in these guys lately.I'll post pics of adults too when I can.

This guy (the yellow) was from a clutch that a wc female laid in her box on a weekend I was away. I had no idea she was gravid really, she wasn't "fat" at all. Anyway, 1 of the 5 eggs hatched, and that's it above. I do have another wc yearling too, but I have not sexed either. I may get rid of my yellows to make room.(for all the new snakes I've just purchased!) My males are around 6' and either I need to make a big enclosure for them or find someone with one for 'em.

I think we can arrange an enclosure for one of them 6 footers! ;)

I have a female yellow that is damn near the six foot mark and sweet. She is a great snake. The male on the other hand is an a$$! He thinks he is ten feet but only 3 ft.
I think Everglades are my biggest garbage cans. My female at 3 ft will eat as much as my male at 5 ft. Should catch up quick eating like that.
I can't wait to breed them!
No talk Tim. Pics man! Show us pics! :D
Great pics mark~
these little rats are starting to grow on me...
I might have to become the rat and corn man.....
get rid of everything else and just concentrate on the rats and corns....I hate you.....don't post too much photos (not) I might really have to get rid of everything else....lol..
did you see the chinese bamboo rats (Elaphe porphyracea nigrofasciatus) and the Thai bamboo rats (Elaphe porphyracea coxi) ?
Those are something I really want to add in my collection now~

THEY ARE SUPERB. But so is the price tag. They also go by Red Mountain racer. The Chand. man beat me to one at the Calgary show! Next time I am wearing sneakers!
Tim and Julie B,
yeah those are great! But man..the price tag is insane...I better go back to China and hunt for these and sell it out or something....they are like everywhere in China....lol....
They had one at the Calgary show? How much was it? Man..I better put on my sneakers too....
