a guy here locally that raises greyband kings told this to me but for the moment I don't have the larger males for comparison. Anyway he says that looking at the shed tells the difference. The vent area of the female dry shed is supposedly much smaller with thicker edges around the hole, the male vent on a dry shed is more open and has thinner edges around it. Any of you shed keepers able to confirm or debunk this idea? It seems to agree with what I see on my animals sheds but again I don't have enough to make a good comparison.

Corey,
How old is too old on Boids to still utilize the 'popping' procedure to sex? I had read that they learn relatively quickly, how to control the hemipenises and hole them inside so they won't 'pop'. At about what age would you say this starts to happen?
Thanks for any info you can offer on this one.
Tay
That should have read 'hold them inside' not 'hole' - mind in the gutter obviously!!!

Thanks Corey, I had read all kinds of conflicting information regarding sexing Boids and I remembered that we used to use this method in the store with some pretty large fellas, so it was strange to me to think that you couldn't after a certain age.
Thanks so much for the info!!!
