View Full Version : cage
i Have a 5 foot high, 3 foot long and 2 foot wide cage. Im getting a small chameleon. 2-3 months. Thankyou for reccomending connie to me. She is quite busy. What could i expect.. its her buissness! She is very helpful.. right now she has ambanjas in 6 weeks and nosy be blue right now. Should i wait for amabnjas? or get a nosy? And i have built a 1x1x1.5 cage for him when hes small.. Is this too small? and if it is.. could i put screen halfway down part to make it smaller for him? I really dont want to build another with my dad.. and he wont want to eaither... thanks, Geoff

i say go with ambanja .. nosy bes are nice if you want a blue green animal, but i have seen ambanjas (although rare) with yellows, reds, purples, neon green, electric blues .. just stunning ... if you want to try and get something spectacular, ambanja is a good bet, and even if it isnt, they look like nost bes with darker lines ... i spoke to connie before i bought max about ambanjas, and she told me that their colourations are random as to wha tthe babies will look like .. she has had red bars give nothing but bluebars, and bluebars give yellows and purples ... just luck of the draw :)

sorry to change the topic, but i`m looking for a female ambanja,I have a red male.I`ve heard yous mention connie a few times.would she have a web site does she own a reptile store.Sounds like she has quality chams.
thanks for any info.
Hi Geoff!
My vote: Nosy Be all the way.
Your baby cage is 12x12x18? I think that is a little on the small side for a baby chameleon. I tend to use 18x18x24 or 18x12x24 size cages for my little ones. Since you've already made it, I would use it, but he'll probably outgrow it fairly quickly though. They grow like bad weeds I swear. Just pay attention to the basking spot temperature in that small cage, you wouldn't want your new guy to overheat!
Cheers!

carl: No she doesnt have a web site, i got her e-mail address tho, i would give you the number, but i havnt asked her if im allowed too...so im gonna play it safe, ill just give you her e-mail arborealexotics@hotmail.com, she has great chameleons, i bought one at the show, and my nosy be is perfect!
Trace: hey i was just wondering, why do u find nosy be, better then ambanja???? i like myself like nosy be cause of there blue colour wich is amazing....ambanja are nice, and shows lots of colours, but they dont seem to be my thing. Just want your opinion in why you like them
Meow
Well Meow, you said it yourself... Nosy Be's are BLUE! That's why I like them. Every time I've seen an Ambanja in real life their colours aren't as striking as the Nosy's. They seem to be muddy or dull coloured, and thus, not my favorite locale of Panther chameleons.
Cheers!
Trace
P.S. Of course I've probably offended all the Ambanja owners out there by saying that! LOL!

I love Nosy Be's. I'd have to say that I think my favorite panther is ambanja though. Those colors are amazing.
