I'm begining construction on my boa condo. It is 6 feet long, 2' wide and 2'tall. it is shaped like an "L" with the upright section being 6' tall and 2' wide. I'm planning on putting a heat lamp in the roof of the L, but what can I put in the horizontal part of the "L"? the cage is plywood and will be raised off the ground. Can I put an UltraTherm heating pad under the cage and if yes, does it need to be mounted on the bottom outside? What about putting it inside the cage under some type of astroturf? has anyone ever done that?? Heat tape is not an option that I feel comfortable with. Terrified of electrical fires!!! Any help would be great!

:D

Always put the heat pad outside the enclosure. The snake can dig under the astroturf and burn itself badly. Even a small UltraTherm outside the cage can give you PLENTY of heat.

Be sure to post pics when it's finished. :)

Thanks Invictus! You changed your avatar! Tired of people telling you you look like Jesus? No mistaken identity with this pic, that's for sure! LOL

LOL... that pic is Shagrath, the lead vocalist of a Norwegian black metal band called Dimmu Borgir. One of my favorite bands, and well... the avatar still suits me. :)

This avatar or Jesus? The Christ and the Anti-Christ! Just kidding! Your quote made me laugh the first time I read it. Is it yours or from somewhere?
