Well i was thinkink maybe a plant would be nice for my JCP's(maybe i just think too much). The lady at the store pulled out her book and said a grape vine would be fine. Any down falls to adding a plant to thier enclosures?

grape vines are good for large enclosures. However the stems that are still green are VERY brittle, i think you carpet would flatten that thing in about an hour. I have only used them in chameleon cages, and they need quite a bit of light. Personally i think branches and fig type plants would stand a better chance.
You wont need to worry about your snake getting hurt with it tho. They are completely safe, so you may wanna give it a try.

ok cool. Ya I had no intention of having it for the snakes to climb on them, I'll have to explain that to them :D. It was more a humidity thing. Maybe they'ld stay off a cactus :)
make sure its very clean, most grapevine ive seen is covered in mites.. (the stuff that comes from reptile stores anyways)
if you find your own grapevine it would be good, but id still bake it.. its very brittle stuff as Kyle said, so it can harvest alot of crap too.
but id still bake it He wants a live plant, though, so I don't think thats an option! lol

hehe ya and the only stuff i get from the LPS is feeders (fish mice etc). Got mites from there once already. I feel sorry for any animals that get brought in. They know so little and thats coming from a guy who doesnt know a whole lot:).
I would be a good idea to quarintiene(ya i cant spell) it for a month or so.
Thx

oh i was under the impression you were wanting live grape vine. Sorry, are you talking about just the dead wood? If so just go to a orchard or forest you can always find tons of dead branches/logs that look really cool.

Yes I did want a live plant. Hope I didnt come across as rude in my reply to your comment. I think I'll just try it in one at first. I don't think it will get wrecked but i guess the snake fas the final say in that matter
