this yeah i have speant... around the $2500 aussie dollar mark, thats alot for a 15 year old on $8.5 an hour!
$1000-1500 this year. Thats not including feeders. Just an estimate!
ha~
this is a good thread....I really have to look at myself....
last year I have spend more than 20,000 on just herps and this year I have spend at least 10,000 on them again....so just on herps within two years time I have spend at least 30,000 CDN on them....
this is not even including the feeding, heating, heat pads, cages (tanks/tubs), or even the rack systems.....I think with all those together I have spend yet another $6,000 plus.....geeze.....
but the good thing is that I have 1 full time job, 2 part time job and that I own a business in China.....phew.....but still....spending way too much....need to sell some just to get a fraction back.....hahha
-Oh geez...the majority of my income goes towards my herps... I don't even want to try to calculate what I spend on herps. Nothing good can come of it..... lol I spend way too much and not enough :p
We spend alot. food for the rats, caging for the rats, cages for the snakes, the heat, lights etc, plus the snakes themselves...

I only own two, and I just recently got my second bp, so all together, since july, I've spent about $400. I don't pay for electricity or water, though, so I think that helps. :D
lets see.. 3 leos: 70$, albino leo 55$ (cause shipping costs so much) blizzard leo: 50$, 15 gallon: 30$, 2x 10 gallon: 20$, log: 8$, tops to the cages: 30$, 3x heat lamp: 15$, 3x $2 every 1000hrs for bulbs, 6-9$ a week for crix.. think it's been 17 weeks of herp owning for me. $383 total.. wow, that's nothing compared to u guys. absolutely nothing. i need to rethink my life lol. buy more herps! oh i plan on getting a crested w/ an exquisit tank.. that'll be bout 200$ total to add to that maybe.

I just recently spent $400USD on a 6 month feeding supply, so I go close to $1000 a year without any new animals or housing

Too much :p I try not to think about it... lol...
Plenty. All in all, close to a years income. Worth every damn cent.
Same here Jenn, I don't even want to know! If it only seems like 10, 20, 5, every few days, then it doesn't seem like as much as it really is!

I spent too much to count, and its still rising!!!!
-Steve-
if i truly knew, my wife may make me get rid of them...nah, she knows that snakes are my passion and wouldn't do such a thing. but it would be interesting to know...
This would be far to depressing to really try and find out.......... haha.. I feel for everyone that is as addicted as I'am....

Too much and not enough all at the same time. I know i've spent over 1000 on vet bills, 1000's on cages and 1000's on animals. So quite a bit. Most of my money goes to them!!!!

Well, since March we've gone from 3 snakes to 25 snakes. Haven't spent a whole heck of a lot, but let's just say my "herp debt" is climbing higher and higher and higher.... :D

I don't even like to think about it. I was dropping $500+ CDN weekly on mice for quite a few weeks this summer & my next 2 snakes have cost me $3,000. Mind you they are Austrailian Pythons (female Diamond & another male Woma), still ouch! To actually figure it all out will be scary, unfortunately it will have to be done before long. The Govt. has this thing they call taxes that they expect me to do & pay, LOL. So until I do em Ignorance is bliss! I guess.
LOL Mark I.
P.S. & I'll see you on payday Invicus heh heh!

Well I would say in this year, for 3 snakes, for food, heat, miscellanious (sp?) (as in hides, foliage, digi theremometers) probably about $1000-$1500 USD........No vet bills luckily though! All my snakes are healthy. But that is only on my snakes, I also have 0.1 cat, 0.2 dogs, and 0.1 rabbit!!! lol Thats not including their food, treats and vet bills!!!!!

i dont like to think about all the money i've spent. 14 snakes, 9 lizards,2 very confused cats and i always have a new enclosure project going on. i also breed roaches, mealworms, rats, crickets, and just about anything else. this was supposed to be a hobby to pass away some free time! no time left now. well, i have a very forgiving wife and a very interested 9yr old daughter. i am blessed.

Not nearly enough *LOL* :D So far I've only spent about $300 or so. I'm sure in the next little while I'll be spending an additional $300-$2000 depending on my priorities. :)

So far, my snakes have cost me less than my cats! I figure that I have probably spend $340CDN a year on rats for 3 snakes, plus another $200 in supplies. The snakes alone only cost me $200 for all three( $120 BP and $60 for 2 BCI). The cat on my lap right now has already cost me $500 in vet bills and she is only 4 months old! Yikes!
Pets to me are like my children though, so I am willing to spend money on them.
5 cats: Harry, Merlin, Casey, Sally, Pixel
2 ferrets: Bear, Rosie
1 dog: Chester
2BCI: Honey Bun, Jake
1BP: Annie
Equals lots of $$$$
