Beauty cham, looking better with each pic. Does he mind being handled?

not too much .. of course he runs away when i got to take him out, but his hissing and lunging has really diminished in the last month .. today was the first time in 2 weeks (?) that he actually made an attempt to bite me

That's natural, Jason. Many chameleons, males in particular, will fall to the ground if they are being threatened. Usually they would land among bushes or leaf litter and foil their predator's plans for lunch. My male does this all the time, he hates behing handled. They don't really hurt themselves unless of course they land on an extremely hard surface or are in a stage of MBD. It's just a natural self defense.

yeah....I've had my cham "jump" off my hand one time when she was really starteled by my dog. She just kinda "let go". It's neat to watch because they sort of spread their bellies to increase the air resistance and slow their fall. And they land up-right most of the time, like a cat.
