View Full Version : Feeding pics!
I snapped some pics tonight while feeding... I didn't get all of them but here are the ones I did take:
This is my BCI eating her first jumbo. She normally eats meds or larges, but that was all I had. Don't yell at me :D

My young male IJ eating his first (of two) rat pinks:

My adult male IJ taking his second rat in the past few months (he just recently started accepting rats). He's deep in shed, obviously.

And last but definitely not least, my ETB eating her small fuzzy rat

And of course, I *had* to get bitten when my female IJ (not pictured) mistook be for a mouse. Goody.

I love that "IJ" What is the IJ stand for? It's beautiful!
IJ = Irian Jaya (carpet python)
Thanks!
Zoe
Nice pics! That jumbo doesn't look too huge at all.
The jumbo looks to be the right size for the snake to me.

No way Zoe! That looks like a great meal size for that boa. :)
How was the IJ bite? My male seems like he might strike sometimes. :D
Not bad at all... snake bites don't hurt, at least not the bites by the snakes I have. It's a bit sore now when I poel at it, but that's about it!

Great pics, and great looking snakes Zoe! Nice love bite. :)
are you stupid why would you even bother feeding a snake that is deep into shed it is useless He ate, didn't he? I don't see the problem? Many snakes will eat when in shed, what's wrong with it? If you can point out an actual problem (other than the fact that some snakes don't eat) then maybe I'll ignore the insult and actually consider the rest of that post.

i would not be insulted by such a ignorant reply if it was posted towards me, but in someone elses eyes they might be. watch your tounge. all of my snakes eat every time they are opaque.
depends on the snake.

A feeding's a feeding. The snake doesn't have to see it to benefit from it. It's funny sometimes who brings up the subject of stupidity.

My BP will eat when he is in shed. I don't see any reason to not feed then. It's his skin that is sloughing not his digestive system. I don't handle him when he is in shed though. Not sure why it would be useless to feed a snake in shed. Maybe someone could explain that to me. A meal is a meal.
yea.. if the snake eats it eats... just because its in shed doesnt mean it cant eat. My dumerils boa alway takes food from me in shed *or near shed*, i dont see what so bad about it.
