what to feed my beardy?

I've had my beardy for about 6 months now and he's grown into a sub-adult size. i've started feeding him fuzzies ona regular basis but i've been told it's bad for their digestive system. i'm looking for a way to increase the size of my beardy and crickets and vegetables don't seem to be doing the trick. any ideas????

You cant really do anyting to increase the length of your beardie. you can increase the wieght, but that is very unhealthy and could become obese. It is okay to give them 'fatty' treats once a month or so, treats like pinkie mice or waxworms. But not to much, because that is unhealthy.

What are your basking temps and setup like? Powerfeeding is more likely to cause fatty liver disease than increased growth rate. Plenty of room to exercise, rocks and branches for climbing, and high enough basking temp so that he isn't lying around all day trying to stay warm will help increase both appetite and muscle tone, which usually has a positive impact on growth rates. Natural sunlight exposure will also help. Genetics play a large role in how much and how fast a beardie will grow, but there's not much you can do to change that.

A varied diet with lots of antioxidants and soluble fiber also helps. Try to give as many different ingredients in a salad as you can. At least 2 or 3 different kinds of greens, some orange-fleshed squash, and various other fruits and veggies rotated in and out.

I don't believe in giving mice at all. I've seen too much fatty liver disease from it and seldom see beardies fed mice make it to their seventh birthday. Beardies can also become impacted on the skull or pelvis, they don't have very acidic digestive systems and have a hard time breaking down such dense bone tissue.
