I can only find plastic in 1/4 holes but my parents are frocing me to get it on 1/8. I CANT EVEN FIND IT! I DONT THINK IT EXISTS!. The only thing i can find is aluminum 1/8 screen. I told my parents id bowl feed if i had 1/4 screen in plastic but they dont care! they want 1/ 8 and it doesnt exsist in plastic. Is 1/8 aluminum okay?

is there reason for the 1/8 a problem with loose crix?
i ont know about other herpers, but someone like me has a good 50 crix running around the house at any given time .. its really not that big of a deal

did you try wal-mart or homedepot for the 1/8? if you really can't find it, and your paretn are adiment, i suggest just buying a reptarium .. it may be your best bet

good luck

Look for something called pet-screen at home-depot. It is a very strong plastic coated screen that the crix don't seem to be able to chew through.

holy crap... 50 crickets??? my parents would have damn head! and i cant just go get a reptarium because ive built the cage and i need screening! Home depot only has 1/4 screen. Would normal window screen be okay for the chams toes?

normal window screen would be okay, but make sure the uv bulb is inside the cage, as it is hard to penetrate the dark, small squared mesh. Watch for nose rubbing, and if this happens you'll have to figure something else out.

Aluminum screen is fine for chameleons. PetScreen even better. Stay away from fiberglass screening materials. The fibers do break down over time and if your chameleon crawls on it, the minute shards may pierce his feet, causing infections and other nasty things.

Hope this helps!

P.S. And what is wrong with crickets running amok in the house? Honestly, you get used to them! :P
