I listen to everything from Opera music to Death metal, and almost everything in between, although I think Country and Rap should be eliminated from this earth permanently. (Take the C out of country and put it in Rap and you just described both of them.) :) To each their own though.

Lately, my biggest preference is European gothic metal and black metal.. bands like Tristania, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, After Forever, Trail of Tears, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth, etc. But there will always be a warm spot in my heart and a space on my CD rack for ANYTHING Sarah Brightman. She is the most phenomenal singer in the history of the earth, bar none. I'm also very fond of listening to Charlotte Church. She gives me tingles.

I wonder if MuchLoud has spread past Rogers in the GTA yet... when it first came out no one else carried it. Wasn't on Cogeco, ExpressVu or StarChoice. When I called expressVu to ask about it I was told they don't pick up every new channel that comes along. When I pointed out that they ALREADY have tons of crappy, useless channels crammed into the packages so that people get them whether they want or not the woman I was talking to wasn't impressed...

I love rap music and I am a huge fan of classic rock, my favourite rapper is Lil Dap and my favourite rock performer is Neil Young and Eric Clapton. I just want to know Invictus, have you every tried to listen to rap? You may find a rapper that has the same views as yourself, and if you have givin it a try then I will respect your opinion. I hope your statement was not based on a stereotype, I have never listened to metal so therefore I have no opinion on this music genre.

What about the way movies and television influence kids??? Do you turn off your TV when something that could have a negative influence on people comes on?? Its not ONLY Rap that has a negative influence on people, however i doubt that you give up on EVERYTHING else that does, like you did a genre of music.. Your avatar alone could lead kids to believe that shooting guns is cool ;)

I like music that involves "musical" talent. If the musicians had to practise for years to get as good as they are...I might like it. If it's some untrained "singer" yelling or "spouting off" into a microphone...I won't like it. If it appears that all the musicians are playing the same song, at the same time...I might like it. If the music can be reproduced by real people without some sort of electronic manuipulation...I'll like it all the more.

Lately, there has been alot of blues being played in my house, Elle Fitzgerald, and old stuff, Django Reinhart. Most anything is good, but I really like Canadian music: Bare naked Ladies, Me Mom and Morgentaler. I don't lnow how other's felt about that show Canadian Idol, but I loved it. It was great to see the different styles of music that people chose to perform, not all Hip Hop or R&B. Not that they aren't good styles, but I need variety in my listening.
