captive breeding?

the question is if there is more than enough breeders of any type of snake will the import export business die out ?
or will they the exporters just do it cheaper ?
i only ask his because it seems like every one and there brother are attempting to breed 1 thing or another.
i for 1 am going after the higher end like sunglows and ghosts.

I just try to buy captive breeding animals, i think importing means taking more animals from the wild, i also know there are a lot of farm in South america, Africa etc, breding animalsto export, but a lot of those farms just collect late in the year adult females, keep them until they gave birth, sale the babies and then sale the skin of the big females, I'm not saying all farm do that, but in Colombia and Guyana is very commun to see that kind of action. I will go with captive breeding

I'm hoping that the import/export business dies out with the exception of people who are capturing wild animals in order to help propagate the species. I mean, what is Australia going to do when the Woma becomes extinct? The conservationists will be looking to Europe and North America to help them re-populate. And to think, they don't allow exports... shame, really. We're not just doing this to make money. Those of us in the reptile trade could well be the best thing that ever happened to conservation efforts.

As long as there are chain stores and people wanting to make a quick buck, the export business is far from dying out. You have to produce A LOT of one animal and sell them VERY cheap before they will stop being exported. Leopard geckos are a good example, but breeders are not willing to part with a BCI or a BP for $15, and many people or stores are not willing to spend the extra cash when they could get it for so much cheaper. Cheaper purchase = higher profit. Sad but true.
