I turn this small video for someone who has a dog tame wlp and don't believe they can be agressive! http://membres.lycos.fr/hissnherps/icon_twisted.gif Mine try to bite every time I touch he body for the fist few minute. After 5 min of handling, he does calm down alot but is not what I call trustworthy. But he's still young...
I don’t think he like you to much... Just kidding...:D
Keep handling him… With some luck he will get use to you and maybe one day you two will fall in love... :joker:
Keep us posted!

when I saw this, I felt iresponsible !! My ball is so gentle and confident..sometimes, he cruise on my shoulder and he gently rub his head against my face and he gave me tongue shot in the eyes (yep..I should be carefull lol!). But its always the same thing when I handle other reptiles: snappy and really fast moving! Yep, I love my ball lol. Am I lucky to have such a "gentle" snake?!? He never coiled in a ball, he never seems stressed...always calm and relax. The only time he goes fast, is when he want to explore.

hmm.. the clip doesnt work for me.. o well..
PO .. my ball is the same way .. he doesn't have an agressive bone in his body. The worst he has done is hiss at me when I disturbed him while he was shedding. Great snakes balls are. :D

snakedude_03: here's the new link. I change my website to a new adress. http://www.hissnherps.ca/wlp_temperament.wmv
PO: Ball are usually calm and not agressive snakes. Mine is like that. But wlp are usualy the oposite. It really depend what you like. I like to have some that are a little more chalenging. But he will probably calm down a bit as he grow.
By the way, he's not always like that! He was in really bad mood on the video. Alot of people have handle witout without thinking he could even strike!
Hehehehe.... cute movie :p
Jezabel,
You might try this with that guy. When you go in to pick him up, move slowly and gently cover his head with your hand for about 15 seconds and with the other hand, reach in and pick him up allowing him to wrap himself around your arm however he wants to, all the while keeping his head covered and making him feel a bit more at ease. Also try not to move around too much when you first take him out, stand by the enclosure for at least one or two minutes before you walk off with him and keep him at waist level and maintain a little light pressure with your other hand right behind his head as you walk around. This worked with several biters for me, it was all about my introduction to them, they didn't like the way I just wanted to walk in and pick them up, it seemed they needed a little time to get my scent and get used to the heat of my body and then they were okay. As he gets more comfortable you may be able to let him explore you a little further.
I hope that helps.

Thanks alot Tay
But, if I just stand by the tank, he keep snaping on the glass and I'm worried that he can hurt him.
Also, cover his head whit my hand is imposible, he'll strike, and I hate grabing snake by it's neck. Also, whenever I restrain him, he musk and pee on me. It's something funny to see, maybe it could be my next video :D
The only thing I've found to take him out is to touch him so she know it's me. You can see the second time I touch her in the video, she don't really strike, she just turn around, a bit faster, she already know I'm gonna take her out.
I've tried a hook also with no luck. He bit me everytimes I tried to take him off the hook!!!

LOL I know they do that, I'm not saying stand by there before you put your hand in, but kind of stay close to it since it's his safety zone, for a few minutes after you pick him up. A retic at the store I used to work in was bad about striking at the cage top and the glass when you approached the tank, so I turned off all the lights except one in the corner of the room and for some reason that calmed him down. I don't know if it will work for your guy but it's worth a shot.

I wouldn't want to grab a snake by the neck either, that could injure the jaw, I meant lay your hand flat behind his head with a little gentle pressure and try to keep his head covered with that hand just so you can maintain control of the biting end (G). I apologize, I should have been more clear on that one.

LOL Yeah, our milk snakes do that, he'll probably grow out of it.

I swear, they take patience to the max sometimes. I never could understand that Retic and why he hated humans so much until I saw where he'd come from, it was awful there, like the horrible puppy farms that you hear about. After seeing that, I was a lot more patient with him. I have a feeling that yours will just get better the more you handle her. I enjoyed the video btw.
