Well, I live in Ohio and its starting to get pretty damn cold. Last night I woke up freezing and i looked at the cage temp and it was only 62 degrees. Should I buy a heat lamp? Ive already got a heat pad under half the cage is that enough?16

I live in NB even colder, I noticed the same thing, so I put another heatpad under the enclosure set on low to help with the ambient temp in the cold end. I figure plugging in a pad is cheaper than turning up the heat in the whole house. I had to play with the setting and spacing to get the temp right but I finally got it.

is the 62 on the cold side or warm side. If it's on the warm side get a low watt red or black heat light......and see what happens.........do you have a digital thermom or one of those stick on kind. if it's the stick on kind then it is only measureing the temp of the glass.........if it's on the cool side, then that should be fine.....my cool side gets to about 60-65 degree's at night. and 70-75 during the day.......
