I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully kept and TAMED
a juvi black racer?
And how was the experience?
I know they are nasty little buggers.

ask wchuntsman@hotmail.com . He knows a lot about racers and keeps them. His name is William. Let him know that Jordan gave you his Email.
Hope he can help.

We've kept and acclimatised black masked racers (Coluber constrictor latrunculus).
Juveniles, in my experience, tend to be difficult to tame down, compared to adults. The bigger ones were more mellow right off the bat. Although with prolonged handling we did tame some down.
We've been bitten by them during the taming process and the bite just seems to bleed quote a bit, probably since they have so many teeth. Only thing you to watch out for is if they leave a tooth or two in you which may lead to an infection. Cos they're definitely not chompers, they're rippers. They'll bite down then pull away before they open their jaws again. Some are better than others though. Good luck.
