Thanks guys, temperment still to be determined as he/she is just about to come out of shed. I was told it had a bit of nasty nature, but I would be nasty too if you only fed me one mouse a week. I'll take care of that. I'll post new pics when it is looking "good"..;)
Kelvin, was that one sugar or two...;)

Here's another one, showing he is a little "rough around the scales" right now. Hopefully he will break out of his shed shortly and then the fun begins. I have a pile of rats just waiting with his name on them.
Ohh_kristina: Thanks, right now, he is in a 30 gallon and quite comfy, until I can get his enclosure put together in the next couple of months. At that point I will move him to a standard newspaper substrate.
Kelvin: that's what happens when you optimize the setup and end up with extra "empty" tanks..;) Damn I still have three more "empties" and one or two more to be "emptied" in the next couple of weeks..hmmm what's next? And yes Rose DOES have to live with me..;) "Honey? Look at all that empty space in the dining room!" and wait til ya see all the extra room I found in the basement ! See ya on Sunday!

Yes that setup does look nice and roomy. Now if you can feed him up a bit maybe he won't be trying to take your hand off all the time lol. Really nice looking blood :D. I got to get me one of those.

RepTyle: yeah right now he is suffering from petstore syndrome, "feed as little as necessary", why they take in animals like this without being prepared is beyond me..oh well it will remain my motivating factor to "rescue" them from the clutches of capitalism..:) How's that for a cheap excuse.

Well he finally came out of his shed and a crappy one it was. After a good soak in the tub the get rid of the flakes, (he wasn't terribly keen on that, but he tolerated it), he is now comfortably settling into his new home. I'll leave him alone for a couple of weeks then start the feeding
nice blood jwsporty....I'm glad you rescued him!:) I can't believe they were only feeding him a mouse a week! Sickening I tell you!
I'm sure he's in good hands now! Your set up looks luxrious. One suggestion...you could add a low but wide hide box so its snug around his body...they do like to burrow and this would simulate that environment.

Here's a little update on the new arrival. I have since moved him into a larger and more comfy tank, provided a fogger to maintain decent humidity, and he/she now has a decent belly full of rat. He is adjusting beautifully and is showing no signs of aggression. Think I got a good one! ;)
Yve: That problem is no longer a problem ;) That hide was there pretty much just to hold up the branch. But most of the time he just buried himself into the 4" of aspen. He is now on newspaper, with much lower hides.
