I just found this forum and it's my favorite reptile forum out of all the ones I have tried. I'm also a member of the LJ communities *herpers* and *snakecommunity* where I go by the same username.
I'm 23, female, and live in New Orleans. I grew up in a NOLA suburb with the swamp as my backyard. Literally. My dad always liked snakes but my mom is scared to death of them. I guess I get my reptile love from dad.
I currently have two snakes. Nothing extraordinary, just a Ball Python and an RBC. They were both rescues. I've have my BP for about 2.5 years now and my RBC over a year. They are between 5-7 years old each.
I'm currently thinking about my next herp. I may get another snake or a herbivore lizard.
I volunteer at my local zoo and I get to help maintain about 20+ reptiles as well as four birds and quite a few mammals.
I'm interested in learning about venomous species but I am not interested in keeping them. I just think they are fascinating animals.
