Something crazy just happened. I was feeding Wrinkle his second meal....I placed the pinky in front of his tube he was hiding in and I guess he had some shed skin in the tube...because when I just went in there to check on him I see him swallowing a piece of SKIN!!! I broke it off as close to his mouth as possible but he definitly ate some...(it couldn't have been much since i got most of it out at cleaning day, i thought i had it all)

Is this terrible? I would think it will just pass through right? Damn tubes. I am tossing them. I can't believe I missed it.

Not a problem Marisa. A lot of species of lizards eat there sheds and desest chams eat snake sheds as well. I don't think your snake will have any trouble digesting it. At least he is recycling.

LOL o.k. cool I hope not. I would just freak out if anything happened to him.

He is looking around for more food right now so I am assuming all is well. :D

Although I've never seen snakes do it, I've seen lizards eat their own sheds many times. I would assume he would either pass it the next time he 'goes' or digest it. I wouldn't worry about it.

PS Keep the tubes, most of mine love them. ;)

I wouldn't worry about it in the least. If snakes can digest other snakes whole, a little piece of skin is F.A. Mark
