do any of you have incubators that you can set the temp on? i am wondering if they make such a thing, and if so, how expensive is it? this would be for future Crested eggs

It's easy to set up your own incubator. I have one set up in my home. Go to the breeding/incubation section of this forum and you'll find a lot of informations

Hovabators they are widely used. I have 2 myself. Mine cost around 65 a piece and have been pretty good. I do run a digital lead in there to make sure the temps are correct.

Copy and paste this link for the hovabator

An incubator is great if you're looking for fairly exact hatch dates & rates, but depending on where you live you can easily incubate them at room temps. The only difference is the hatch dates can be unpredictable since the temperature isn't controlled & monitored to the same precision. The eggs can tolerate a wide range of temperatures as long as they remain stable throughout the incubation period. I keep most of my eggs in the same room as my adults. Think of it this way; if the parents can reproduce at that particular temperature, then the eggs can certainly hatch at that temperature. Anyway, give both a try, it's always good to get a feel for different techniques. :)

i wanted to try something i read about keeping the temps at one point during the day and slightly lower at night, and i feel that the only way to do this is with an incubator that you can control the temps.

Becareful when changing temps. You don't want too big of a spike too quickly.

I cycle all my incubators for a 4 hour off period at night. The result is around a 5 degree temp drop. It seemed like the logical thing to do as any eggs would be subjected to this daily cycle in the wild. I've never had any problems using this method on all types of geckos and lizards.
