It is the first cb in Canada. Several zoos have been extremely successful (some too successful) at breeding komodo dragons. The national zoo has been most famous for its work with the Komodo Dragon

As far as i'm aware Last month i received a newsletter from the st. louis herp society (i'm a member) and the first komodo dragons captive hatched i belive could be wrong though could have been captive bred. They had 17 of them hatch and St. Louis, MO was lucky enough to get one of these beautiful lizards!!!! Well sadly the female (we have a male here also) passed away on July 14th this year. They don't know what from they think it was a nerological (sp) Problem. I'll pull out my newsletter when i get home.

But wow congrats canada!!!!

I haven't seen the komodos in metro zoo but I saw the ones at the Detroit zoo. Awesome animals. When they are captive born and well fed they are reputed to be fairly passive but if I was in their natural habitat I'd be staying in the friggin trees., that's for damn sure!!!
