I am presently using cypress mulch for substrate for my mangrove moonitor and I am finding it a major b*tch to keep clean. I was wondering if there any any other options for substrate that anyone has found easier and more practical to keep clean.

outdoor dirt with some leaf litter.

You can add oak leaves to it, and dirt. These anmals soak ALOT, and the muddy substrate can be a problem for enclosure and cleaning. Maybe some moss and dirt mixture? They need moderate temp, say ~90 - 110F and high humidity, with clean water to drink and soak completey into....a messy but fascinating animal.

Good Luck!
