Thanks for the kind words. The male female smaller female look the same as far as colour and body structure goes. The female I purchased as Maniwarkowi (sp??) locality and the male I purchased as unknown origins. The larger female was sold to me as a Biak. I've had Aru's in the past. I don't really trust the whole locality "thing" in GTP's. You are trusting the exporter to send you a properly labelled GTP (If you buy a Jayapura for $900 US how do you know you aren't getting a really fancy $125 US Biak??). When I look for GTP's I look for ones that look nice and are tame.

Really cool animals.

Is it common for their tails to be a different color?

Awsome snakes! I want one so bad, but they do make me a bit nervous :) Maybe I can find a nice tame one. If you get one as a hatchling and handle it quite a bit do they have nicer temperments? Or would too much handling stress them out?

some say they use it to lure in prey, twitching it like a worm or something

Handling can stress them out and damage their spines.

It is not good to handle GTP before they reach a year of age.

why is that, is it the body structure, or are they just too small

Their bones are very sensitive and they can get kinks very easily.

thats why u should never sex a chondro before a year old.....at least.
my 2 are very tame easy going adults, they've never struck at me once. even as youngsters ive seen docility if handled gently
cheers
