Black Pines

i just gotta a black pine and im wonderin if any of you guys hav any.... some pics of adults would be appreciated greatly. I would also like 2 know of any interesting habits you have noticed with these snakes. thanks alot

Interesting habits, hmmm. They are pigs when it comes to eating, and they hiss! lol. Pretty typical Pituophis. Another interesting thing I've noticed with Pituophis is that they're a bugger to handle, cos they keep moving they're bodies backards! Like most snakes move forward when in your hands and you guide their heads. But no, not with Pits. They keep slinking backward! makes for awkward handling.

thanks guys.... my pine "raven" is one mean snake. he hisses, puffs, rattles his tail and strikes but its all bluff. im gonna hav fun wit dis one!

Strange, I haven't noticed any of the 'typical' black pine behaviours. I recently picked up my male 2 weeks ago, and he has never had any inclination to bite, or even hiss at me. I don't have any adult pics as my little guy is less than a year old, he only measures about 37cm long. Yet he is already very active, and likes to rearrange his substrate (I use coconut fibre).
