Hmmm... what do you think I should do?

Empty tanks bug the HELL out me. So I got staring at my 30 gallon yesterday afternoon and realized I had to fill it. So I rounded up some stuff and before I knew it, I had this:

The problem now, is what to actually do with it?

After I fix the wood, and get a lid, I might put a small ground dwelling lizard or two in there, maybe a mostly ground dwelling snake, or experiment with live planting. Any suggestions?

well if you have room for it in the future a baby retic would go nice in there. just a sujestion if you think you might be ready baby burms do well also but keep in mind it will grow.

Hmmmm.... actually Chondro, I hadn't considered a retic or burm, since I don't have room for one as a juvenile, never mind as an adult. Good idea though, if I find more room :)

If you love kings, corns or milksnakes they would be great for that aquarium. let us know what you decide!!

If I had a spare 30 gallon, I would go for an anery or hypo milksnake. Or maybe a nice banana cal king. There are tons of possibilities. Definately let us know what you decide!

judjing by the post in the giant python discutions. I am asuming you put a retic in that cage or is still a empty cage cause a baby savanah would have a field day in there keep in mind it willl grow but I am sure you are well aware of that.

i think a burm or retic would out grow that tank in about 1-2 months if fed right. plus in my opinion aquariums are for fish not for snakes.

If you are looking to experiment with a live vivaria setup, have you given any thought to perhaps an amphibian setup?

Hmm when I see your setup, I think it perfect for a terrestrial tarantula or a skink. Not a BTS but one of those Mabuya sp. Or any other ground dwelling lizard like you mentioned. And emerald swift would be neat too.

Oh wait, now that I notice your branches, I don't think a T would be good. Might fall and burst!

30 gal is not large enough for a full grown bearded dragon.

I personally dont think a 30 gal is good for anything :(

Some fat-tailed geckos, a rosy boa, velvet geckos (i love em!), some small kinks (gold skinks, fire skinks, etc), magascar plated lizard umm some leos or anoles, a scorpion or tarantula...

Sorry Chondro, I should have specified that the retic is actually at my lps, where I feed & clean snakes part time. Everyone but me is scared of him. I'm certainly full of respect for him, but not fear. A bite from a non-ven sure isn't going to kill me, just teach me to move quicker lol.

Ya know, Linds, a natural viv is starting to look good - real good in fact. I think I'll ask around, but in the proper forum this time ;).

So far, another king or a milk is sounding good, but so's a nice natural tank with pictus/other terrestrial geckos. Thanks for the input everyone :)

hmmm, ever thought about adding a BIG water dish then keeping a white lipped tree frog or a whites tree frog in it? :D
