Problem with rat?

My oldest female rat hasn't produced anything for about 8 weeks. A few days ago, I noticed some of the shavings in her cage were a bit bloody (like they look after a rat has given birth), but there were no babies (and I'm confident she didn't eat them). Today, there was a bloody glob in the cage and I picked her up and her vulva is covered with blood. Is there anything I can do for her, or is it time for her retire and become snake food?

Personally I retire at even the slightest hint of a problem with the breeders, reason being when you breed for food it is not profitable to treat ill breeders. And females have to be in top shape to reproduce on a regular basis and raise health young.

Does she look pregnant? Maybe shes about to have babies. Id give her awhile just to see what is going on but be prepared to retire her since it doesnt sound good.

She gave birth to a bunch of stinky tiny embryos. It's toast for her, I guess.

Man that sucks :( I know I shouldnt but I do get a bit attached to my breeders. How old is she? :( maybe you could keep her as a pet or give her away as a pet if you have gotten attached.

Zoe, i wouldn't waste more time...i think you should feed her to your herps.
