View Full Version : When is breeding season?
When exactly do breeders start putting their pairs together, and how much longer after that before you can see some eggs, or does it all depend on the female?
Thanks guys :D

Im not into the ball python breeding YET but there are breeders that have their ball pythons together right now, and there are also some breeders that just have their ball python eggs in the incubator right now.
Oh yeah? That's cool.
I know that you can almost start breeding them any time of the year in captivity now(given of course that they are of breeding age) , at least that is what I heard. I guess my question was when does next breeding season start??

I cool my animals from Oct 1st to April 1st. I start putting my pairs together in December, however, the most active time for breeding is from Jan-March.

All I do to cool them is shut off their heat for 14 hours per day. I turn it off when I home from work (in around 5pm) and then I turn it on again when I get up to go to work (in around 6:45am). The ambiant room temp at night is anywhere from 67F-75F depending on the time of year and the temperature outside. I keep feeding all the adults once a week (if they will eat) up until Feb and then I take them off food.
I hope this helps,
Corey
