Copperhead Enclosure

Hello all!

I was wondering if anybody here had the goods on what the best size enclosure for a neonate copperhead would be? As of right now, I have an enclosure that measures probably 30-35 inches long, 18 wide, and probably 18 tall. Would this be sufficient? And at what snake length would I need to upgrade?

you can always use more space, and the more is better, but honestly, that enclosure would be fine for most adult copperheads (maybe a little more length for the largest southerns). 18 inches high is fine, but if you need more vertical space, 12 inches would be fine too, they arent arboreal.

The size sounds fine to me. My question is what kind of vents do you have on the cage? If you are using any type of mesh covered opening or a screen top, consider the fact that those little fangs can actually reach your hand if placed on the screen. Just something to think about.

My copperhead started out in a 12 inch neodeshea, but quickly moved up to a custom enclosure (that I built).
