the rats on the top glass cage on the left are breeders?
Lance,
Here's some close ups of the hoppers. The pics are pretty much self-explanatory ;)

Reptilesalonica,
No that's too small for a colony. That's just some overflow of the jumbo rats.

Hey Linds, excellent work! All those are made by you?! I never tried racks, now from these photoes i am thinking on it...

In the beige rubbermaids you run 1.1 rats?
~Greg~
Yep... I made the rack with some help from my dad. I run colonies of 1.3 in each tub. I much prefer using rack systems over cages where I can, both with rodents and snakes :)

Well, very good job Linds! I liked that idea with the feeder thing.
What about automated watering system with hose? Have you ever tried it?
Just a question, they cannot chew on that piece of wood? (on the last photo)
~Greg~
Awsome linds thanks for the pics
do you have anytrouble with the rodents pushing up the feed bins trying to get out?
well thanks for the help i'm off to try to build a rack lol>(
Nope, haven't experienced any problems like that. If you are worried you could always secure them with twist ties or clips. In the 8 or so months I have been using this rack, I have no had a single escape from it ;)
okely dokely Linds i'll try it thanks again your a great help

Nice setup Linds. You saved me from starting a topic about using rubbermades for housing rats since I will be setting up a small breeding colony very soon. That will save me trips to the store for feeders :D
