Hi there
Your assistance would be appreciated.
My one neonate ATB's has has had a "swollen" mouth for about a month now. I thought it was stomatitis, but I am not sure anymore. She is kept in a small container, with moist paper towel and a few branches at 85degrees F as DTH. Once I noticed the oral swelling, I increased the temperature to 90degrees F and increased the humidity a bit.
She has however had a meal just over a week ago, but still the mouth looks swollen. She shed 100% about a week ago too. Generally she is in good health, but the swelling in her mouth just does not want to go away.
Please respond if you could assist me.
Thanks

Well first I would see a vet. That would be my first priority. Is this ATB CB?? Possibly an infection of some sort. But before anything get him/her to the vet I would have the first notice of swelling.
But yes my first guess WAS mouth rot/stomatitis. Are mouth shots possible? Or a description

She is a CB of 6 months and therefor I don't think mouth shots would be possible? What could be the cause though? Is there something wrong in my husbandry practices? I want to take it to the vet, but I need to know what could be the possible causes, as to not make the same mistake again.

Well the vet is mandatory. You can ALWAYS find the reasons but get care fist.
What is your humidity in the cage??

Humidity between 60-80%, with a lot of ventilation.

Well a good temp is about 85 degrees......and humidity should be around 80% or 90%. Misting twice or so daily.

The daytime humidity is 80%, and in the evenings it drops to 60%. As mentioned, the DTH is 85 degrees. They are also misted twice a day.
Go see the vet, it's sound like a respiratory problem, hope for you it's not too late. Good luck
Temps and humidity sound fine. It's a good sign that the little guy is still feeding for you. What part of the mouth is swollen? Sounds like an absess, or possibly stomatitis. A month is too long to let something like this go. I'd get the snake to a qualified vet to be examined and treated, you cannot figure out what caused it until you know what in fact it is.

Thanks guys
I had it at a friend of mine, a qualified vet, and it is stomatitis as first identified. The cause was the power-failure of more than a month ago. It was such a long time ago I completely forgot about the fact that the temp during the power-failure fell to under 20degrees Celcius for more about a day. That influenced the immune system, leading to the stomatitis to affect the health of the snake. It did not really spead or get worse according to the vet, because the conditions seems adequate.I treat the snake myself now, with DMSO and Baytil.
Thanks for the replies, really appreciated.
