Can you keep 2 full grown BP's in a 55gal ?

I figured if you can keep 1 full grown BP in a 20/30gal tank 2 in a 55 should work 2 right?

You shouldn't keep 2 of any snakes in one enclosure. The risk of both getting sick if one gets sick doesn't make it worth it.

What weight are they? How old are they? I wouldn't keep 2 of any snake together. If one gets sick they both get sick, twice the vet bills. You can't tell which one went to the bathroom. And isn't "breeding season" over for BP's? I don't breed so I wouldn't know. And don't you have to keep them in a "hibernating season" and lessening of the food intake.........etc........etc......there's alot more work to than just throwing a boy and girl snake together!

I think the "hibernation"/burmation season starts in a few months. To my understanding, limited, you lengthen the time between feedings and lower the temps eventually not feeding at all. Others will know more.

Firstly, for most, cooling begins anywhere between Oct. 1 and early Dec. If you want to keep the balls in the same environmnet JUST to breed, then they must both be sexually mature. IF you hope to just leave them together until they mature and breed, bad idea. It probably will not happen. Browse the forum for the question that you asked, and you'll get many, many threads on just that. Good luck.

BP's are cooled not bumated. This should be done with them in their own cage for the first month. During the second month of cooling you can introduce them together. After they've copulated seperate them and beging raising the temps to normal at the start of the third month. That is just one of several ways to do it. Regardless they are NOT brumated. If you want to breed them keep them seperate until after the first month of cooling.
