Beautiful babies - even brighter after they shed. How do you keep them all in the container to get a shot? Even with one I have him bouncing off the walls - they are crazy at this age,
thanks for sharing,

Thanks everyone! And congrats to you Mary V on your recent hatchlings.
Yes, they are spastic, bitey little buggers at this age. Mary they are in a deep styro for the photo, so they couldn't escape. I put my hand in stirred them up
and waited for even distribution, then snapped with pic with flash and a quick aperature close....
You learn lots of little tricks for taking pictures of triangulum over the years.
I usually just squeeze a snake or two under a margarine container,or deli dish, then prefocus on a bic pen just beside, so the focal length is the same. ...Pull the container, and snap the shot... A tripod is essential

Ahh - so thats how you get the shots of them - tall, steep sided slippery container. I like the bic pen suggestion - substitute for the snake for focus purposes - great idea. I use the tub over them and a quick removal and then try to get the shot but always takes me too much time to focus!
thanks,

Great pics...I'm not up on my colubrids but is there a chance of them consuming each other?
- Don The Boid Guy:)
There is a chance, but those guys already look well fed to me.

Yes they will consume each other if kept together, as they are milksnakes, which are Kingsnakes.
Keep in mind guys, that arrangement was only for the photo. They were split up right after.
And by the way, none of them has eaten. Those big
tummies are full of yolk. Thats the way healthy baby snakes often look. It may be weeks before they work that off and become hungry
